Walgreens Promotes Voltaren's OTC Launch

By Tim Binder - 04/29/2020

Walgreens is supporting the OTC launch of GSK’s Voltaren arthritis pain gel with a variety of activity.

In stores, eye-catching, orange-colored endcap signage kits promote the product as “coming soon.” The header card carries a prominent “powerful arthritis pain relief in a gel” message while a pole topper that extends over the endcap depicts a product tube. The display touts product benefits and applicable treatment areas while suggesting shoppers preorder the product through Walgreens’ mobile application by scanning a provided bar code.

A full-page feature in Walgreens’ April 26 digital circular similarly supports. Searching the brand name at walgreens.com also reveals a detailed Voltaren product page explaining the product and its benefits. The site estimates a shipping date of May 14 for preorders.

GSK historically turns to Walgreens for OTC launch activity, as it did with Flonase Sensimist in 2017.
