Target Lets Shoppers Get Personal for the Holidays

Target is adding customizable stockings, sacks, ornaments and gift wrap under seasonal private label Wondershop to its holiday assortment this year. 

Shoppers can purchase and personalize the SKUs with a name via or at personalized gifting stations set up across 80 of the retailer's 1,850 U.S. stores. Items are limited to 10-28 characters of text, depending on the SKU, and range from $6 to $20 in price. 

In stores, the manned stations allow shoppers to personalize an item and continue shopping while their gift is being finished/dries, a Target spokesperson told P2PI. All sales appear to be final. 

“We’re always dreaming up new ways to bring a little more joy to our guests’ Target experiences, especially during the all-important holiday season,” said Mark Tritton, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, in a Nov. 16 “A Bullseye View” post. “And our new personalized gifts are the perfect way to help them add a special touch to their holiday gifts, while creating new traditions—and lasting memories—with their family and friends.”

The retailer is also expanding its collection of Wondershop seasonal SKUs to include more than 140 only-at-Target snacks, treats and giftables such as mini gingerbread villages or champagne-flavored cotton candy. "That’s seven times more Wondershop food fun than last year," according to the blog post.
