The Path to Purchase Institute is excited to unveil our new in-person event, Future Forward, taking place May 16-19 at the Sheraton Grand Chicago.

Future Forward focuses on demystifying the new consumer in a world forever changed, and will look at how, where and why consumers shop, as well as the implications this has on brands and businesses — with tangible takeaways to enact change.

This immersive event will serve as an incubator for innovation, gathering a think tank of industry executives, leaders and visionaries in omnicommerce marketing. Some of the speakers and topics already confirmed for the conference include:

  • Futurist and trend forecaster Lucie Greene will kick things off with her keynote: What’s In Store for the 2020s: 5 Macro Trends that will Shape the Consumers, Culture and Retail In the Next Decade.
  • A “Gen Z: Society’s Change Agents and the Accelerators of ‘Next’” session by Alison Embrey Medina, strategic program manager of consumer industries at EY (Ernst & Young Global Limited) and consumer and generational strategist.
  • A session by Dr. Chris Gray, former psychologist and founder of The Buycologist, debunking “Four Consumer Psychology Myths That Undermine Retail Strategies.”
  • A session from the co-founders of Grounded World, Phil White and Heidi Schoeneck, who will discuss “The Path to ‘Purpose’” and how brands can guide consumers along the journey to more ethical, greener and responsible consumption.
  • As well as sessions exploring the future of commerce (think metaverse, livestreaming and social commerce), the future of the physical store and omniexperience, and so much more!

Future Forward will also include a special, invite-only 40 Under 40 and Hall of Fame happy hour celebration to honor this year’s winners, in addition to a Futures & Legends roundtable, unique networking opportunities, trend talks, off-site personal enrichment activities, retail tours and pop-up dinners.
