Procter & Gamble marked the June 17 observance of Father's Day in its June issue of brandSaver.

Distributed on June 3 via Valassis, the stand-alone insert's front page spotlighted four personal care SKUs from Old Spice while boasting of up to $84 in savings (depending on the market) contained within. The first interior spread positioned the aforementioned SKUs as well as Oral-B and Gillette’s ProShield Chill as "dad gear" ahead of the holiday.

Continuing the Father’s Day theme, an FSI positioning Braun as “A gift he’ll love. The look he wants” offered up to $50 off via mail-in rebate. The same message also was previously employed in the December 2017 brandSaver. Another FSI used a "Happy Father's Day" message to spotlight Pampers Easy Ups training underwear. Elsewhere, an FSI depicted products from Bounty, Charmin and Puffs under a “strong and reliable, just like dad" message.

Among other noteworthy activity:

  • An FSI plugged P&G's sponsorship of OWN's Home Made Simple and highlighted the show's new host, Laila Ali.
  • Multiple FSIs directed shoppers to brandsaver.com or the Flipp mobile application for additional coupons.
  • A two-page spread uniting Secret, Old Spice, Gillette and Olay tied in to wedding season by using a "'til fresh do us part" message.

The event also touted new products from Align, ZzzQuil and Gillette Venus.
