Mars Wrigley Confectionery’s Orbit gum brand brought a national sweepstakes to Walgreens stores, with a dedicated counter unit positioned at checkout dangling a trip to Los Angeles to attend a live taping of ABC-TV series The Bachelorette.

The “Orbit Gum LA Sweepstakes” runs Jan. 1 through March 31 and will award a grand-prize trip to Los Angeles to attend the taping. (The trip was intended to take place in July or August before the studio that produces The Bachelorette, Time Warner's Warner Bros. Television Group, halted production as the industry responds to the COVID-19 pandemic.) Additional prizes comprise “gum for a year” (52 packs) to 100 winners.

To enter, consumers must purchase any package of Orbit by March 31 and submit the receipt on a dedicated promotional site by April 7. TPG Rewards, New York City, handles.

The counter unit promotes the sweeps on its header and side panel. The header also promotes current broadcasts of ABC-TV's The Bachelor.

The display stocks Orbit gum as well as Mars Wrigley’s M&M’s SKUs.
