Mars Wrigley Confectionery’s Orbit gum brand brought a national The Bachelor-themed sweepstakes to Walgreens stores for the second straight winter, with a dedicated, account-specific counter unit positioned at checkout serving as the primary shopper touchpoint.
The “Orbit Gum Dream Date Sweepstakes” runs Dec. 30, 2020, through March 31 and delivers weekly prizes for 12 straight weeks as well as a grand-prize $10,000. Each week during the promotional period, Mars will award 125 or 150 “date baskets” or “date kits” that include gum and are valued at $70-$85.
Consumers can enter daily by uploading a photo of the Orbit logo on any Orbit gum package to a Mars promotional site. Sharing the promotion on Facebook and Twitter earns bonus entries when others also enter via that link.
The counter unit promotes the sweeps on its header and side panel. The header also promotes current broadcasts of ABC-TV's The Bachelor.
The display stocks Orbit gum as well as Mars Wrigley candy SKUs from brands such as Snickers and Starburst.
