Hannaford Sticks with Familiar Flavors

Ahold Delhaize's Hannaford is reprising the "Savor the Flavors of Summer" sweepstakes it introduced last year.

This year's sweeps has a smaller prize pool, awarding one winner with a year of free groceries in the form of 10 $500 store gift cards. Consumers earn entry codes from April 27 to June 10 by buying $5 worth of product from 16 participating manufacturers including Unilever, PepsiCo/Frito-Lay and Kellogg Co. Codes are entered on a promotional web page operated by Southfield, MI-based PrizeLogic.

Stanchion signs promote the campaign in stores, with shelf tags identifying eligible SKUs. Marketing support includes multiple features in the chain's April 29 circular feature, a home page leaderboard ad on hannaford.com, email ads, and Facebook and Twitter updates. Some of the social media activity calls out specific qualifying brands such as Polar Beverages' Polar, Mondelez International's Oreo, Kraft Heinz Co.'s Capri Sun and Flowers Foods' Nature's Own.
