Giant Eagle Eyes Loyalty, Personalization Transformation

Regional retailer Giant Eagle has signed a multi-year agreement with marketing technology company Eagle Eye to use the latter's AIR platform to facilitate a new digital loyalty platform and increased promotional capabilities.

Giant Eagle, which has more than 470 stores across Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana and Maryland, selected Eagle Eye for its breadth of capabilities and ability to facilitate a personalized loyalty platform, at scale, according to a recent media release from Eagle Eye. The AIR platform will enable Giant Eagle to advance its leading loyalty programm across all facets of its business. It will also allow the retailer to continue its in-store experience upgrade and shift away from paper-based promotional activity through end-to-end management of real-time personalized promotions.

The partners expect the functionality will be rolled out to Giant Eagle's customers in phases and completed by June 30, 2022. 

In 2020, Eagle Eye joined forces with data science technology company Dunnhumby to enable promotional personalization for Southeastern Grocers and provide the retailer with a deeper understanding of its shoppers’ behaviors and preferences. The partners deepened their relationship with the regional grocer in 2021 to power SEG Connects, its media network.

Giant Eagle is Eagle Eye's fourth customer in the U.S., reflecting the ongoing transition by American retailers from traditionally paper-based promotion activity, and Eagle Eye's increasing international profile.
