Family Dollar, Mondelez 'Level Up' Their Game

Family Dollar recently teamed with Mondelez International's Chips Ahoy to run a sweepstakes awarding Microsoft's Xbox gaming consoles and accessories.

Shoppers entered from Aug. 9 through Oct. 31 by filling out a form on The sweeps awarded five grand-prize winners with an Xbox "Series X" console and wireless controller, 10 first-prize winners with an Xbox wireless controller and 50 second-prize winners with an Xbox Game Pass one-month video game subscription. Southfield, MI-based Merkle administered.

In stores, account-specific floorstands plugged the sweeps while stocking Chips Ahoy SKUs and inviting shoppers to "level up your game" with the brand.

Last year, the partners ran a similar sweepstakes awarding Xbox merchandise from Aug. 22, 2019, through Oct. 2, 2019. 

Other recent account-specific activations at Family Dollar recently have included: 

  • Custom floorstands stocking holiday fragrances from SC Johnson's Glade. Features in Family Dollar's October and November circulars supported.
  • Procter & Gamble activating its National Football League sponsorship in a feature within Family Dollar's Oct. 25 circular under a "Getting ready for game day: It's a family thing" message. The feature depicted Tide laundry detergent and the final price of the products using a Smart Coupons digital coupon.
