During the Path to Purchase Institute’s first Digital Shopper Commerce Forum June 15-16, Facebook’s director, CPG, retail partnerships and shopper marketing, Dave Sommer, will explore how brand marketers can successfully engage shoppers across different and evolving channels and consumer mindsets now that the shopping experience of the future has arrived much earlier than expected.

The session, titled “The Future of Shopping Has Come Early,” will also touch on what’s driving advancements in shopping, such as:

  • Experiential technology revamping e-commerce,
  • New friction impacting both in-store and online buyers, and
  • Emerging digital platforms disrupting conventional loyalty.

The 30-minute session is set for 1:40 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, June 15, one of the last sessions on Day 1 of the two-day virtual event.

Sommer has been at Facebook for 10 years, making him an expert in all aspects of Facebook and Instagram marketing including both brand and direct response objectives. He partners with many of the world's largest CPG and retailer companies to develop their overall business and marketing strategies. Prior to joining Facebook, Sommer was the founder and CEO of Retail Media Link, which was acquired by GroupM/WPP in 2006.

The Digital Shopper Commerce Forum will delve into the future of shopper marketing, exploring key engagement strategies and tactical innovations that are driving success with today's omnichannel shoppers.
