Energizer Powers Holiday Gifting

By Patrycja Malinowska - 12/21/2018

Energizer is once again running a national incentive program with multiple account-specific overlays to get into shopping carts this holiday and beyond.

As it did last season, the manufacturer is dangling a $5 reward (as a Visa virtual card or PayPal credit) with an in-store or online purchase of $15 worth of its battery packs or lights in a single transaction. Walmart, Target, Walgreens, The Home Depot and Lowe's are hosting overlays and doling out store gift cards. Target, Walmart and The Home Depot shoppers get electronic cards, while Walgreens and Lowe's shoppers receive physical cards. Lowe's also only accepts submissions via its own "Rebate Center" web page.

In Walmart stores, tearpads affixed to a seasonal multi-brand battery pallet display promote the incentive. Outfitted with an Energizer header, the display also stocks Spectrum Brands' Rayovac and Berkshire Hathaway's Duracell SKUs.

A walmart.com home page carousel ad also supported mid-December, linking to a web page offering "add to cart" buttons for qualifying SKUs as well as redemption instructions.

In Target stores, custom shelf trays positioned near checkout stock the participating SKUs and promote the incentive. Lowe's gave qualifying items secondary merchandising space on an account-specific quarter pallet touting the offer.

Additional P-O-P support at retailers such as Meijer, H-E-B, Publix, Albertsons Cos., Ahold Delhaize and Niemann Foods' Harvest Market includes floorstands as well as pallet and half-pallet displays. On-pack stickers also help communicate the offer at many retailers including Walgreens. Albertsons Cos. chains ran supporting circular features and Big Book of Savings ads.

At most retailers and nationally, the promotion is valid Oct. 1 to March 31, 2019. Toronto-based Snipp Interactive administers.
