Mattel, El Segundo, California

Margaret Georgiadis was named chief executive officer. She succeeds Christopher Sinclair, who has led the company since 2015. She was most recently president, Americas, at Google.

Ralph Lauren, New York

Stefan Larsson plans to resign as chief executive officer in May. He previously headed Gap’s Old Navy unit. Chief financial officer Jan Nielsen will lead the company as it searches for a successor.


Ahold Delhaize, Zaandam, the Netherlands

Stop & Shop New York Metro president Don Sussman was promoted to executive vice president of merchandising at Ahold USA. He is succeeded by Bob Yager, who moved from his role as Retail Business Services’ SVP of supply chain to SVP of Stop & Shop New York Metro.

Family Dollar, Charlotte, North Carolina

Family Dollar named former Walmart chief merchant Duncan Mac Naughton as president and chief operating officer. He replaces Gary Philbin, who was promoted to enterprise president of Family Dollar’s parent company, Dollar Tree. Mac Naughton most recently served as chief executive officer of Midwestern value retailer Mills Fleet Farm.

Lowe’s, Mooresville, North Carolina

Lowe’s promoted senior vice president and general merchandising manager for seasonal business Jocelyn Wong to chief marketing officer. She will lead content strategy and development, media advertising, and customer experience design and relationship management across channels to strengthen affinity for the Lowe’s brand.

Office Depot, Boca Raton, Florida

Lenovo Group chief operating officer Gerry Smith was named to succeed Office Depot chief executive officer Roland Smith, who was to retire on Feb. 27. Smith has worked at Lenovo since 2006 and previously held various leadership roles at Dell.

Wakefern Food Corp., Keasbey, New Jersey

Wakefern Food Corp. subsidiary ShopRite promoted executive vice president Brett Wing to president and chief operating officer. He will guide daily operations and strategy planning for 34 ShopRite stores in New York and New Jersey.

Sam’s Club, Bentonville, Arkansas

Chief merchant John Furner replaced Rosanlind Brewer as chief executive officer after she served five years in the role. Brewer previously served as executive vice president of various Walmart U.S. regions, first joining the company in 2006.

Target, Minneapolis

Target promoted Rick Gomez to fill the vacant role of executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Gomez will head marketing and media strategy, creative, marketing communications, shopper research, loyalty, corporate communications and corporate social responsibility efforts. He is tasked with furthering Target’s brand positioning and leading the integration of all marketing programs.

Jake King was named vice president, group creative director. He will lead the company’s creative team, develop concept strategies and oversee creative execution for integrated marketing campaigns. King was previously creative director at CorasCloud and associate creative director at Wunderman DC.

Guy Werstler was named territory sales manager for the western North America and Latin America regions. He previously held sales positions at Dietzgen and Anajet.
