Avon, New York

Avon Products appointed Jan Zijderveld to succeed CEO Sheri McCoy, who previously announced her intention to retire from the company. Zijderveld joins Avon from Unilever, where he had a 30-plus year career living and working in seven countries across three continents. He most recently served as a member of Unilever’s executive committee, and as president of Unilever’s $14 billion European business.

Sanrio, Los Angeles

Craig Takiguchi, senior vice president, licensing and business development, was promoted to chief operating officer. In the role, Takiguchi leads Sanrio’s commitment to deliver unique products and experiences. He also plays a critical role in establishing strategic partnerships and driving new 21st century innovation. His immediate objective is to develop significant, wide-ranging initiatives in the digital space, a new frontier for Sanrio. Takiguchi is based at Sanrio’s North American headquarters in Los Angeles and works directly with the company’s global headquarters in Tokyo.


BJ’s Wholesale Club, Westborough, Massachusetts

BJ’s Wholesale Club has appointed former Lonely Planet COO Naveen Seshadri to the newly created position of vice president of digital commerce and experience as the retailer races to improve its digital chops. The latest in a series of moves BJ’s has made to advance its omnichannel capabilities and shopper experience, the appointment puts Seshadri in charge of digital customer experience strategy, e-commerce merchandising, digital marketing, and digital insights and analytics.

Hudson’s Bay, Brampton, Canada

Executive vice president of CVS Health and president of CVS/pharmacy Helena Foulkes departed after 26 years with the company to take on a new role as the first female CEO at Hudson’s Bay Co., owner of upscale chains including Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor. Foulkes is responsible for the Hudson’s Bay’s global strategy and operations, including more than 480 stores.

Kroger, Cincinnati

Steve McKinney, former president of the Fry’s Food Stores division, was promoted to Kroger senior vice president of retail divisions. Monica Garnes, former corporate vice president of produce-floral merchandising succeeded McKinney as president of the Fry’s division.


Ecrebo, Reading, England

Former Lumeon Ltd. chief technology officer Kelvin Clibbon was appointed to the same role for Ecrebo. He focuses on enhancing Ecrebo’s OnPoint point of sale marketing platform in anticipation of the evolving needs of retailers across the globe. Clibbon has more than 20 years of technical executive experience.

InnerWorkings, Chicago

Leo Burnett Worldwide global president Rich Stoddart succeeded Eric Belcher as InnerWorkings president and CEO. Prior to his current role, Stoddart ran Leo Burnett North America for 11 years as president and CEO. He oversaw a period of significant growth as the agency expanded relationships with existing clients and added new clients.

Modern Promos, Minneapolis

Director of client services Karen Walne was promoted to vice president of client services. Walne utilizes her passion for experiential marketing to continue developing innovative and impactful brand experiences for Modern Promos’ clients. She has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and operations. Modern Promo also hired marketing veteran Dave Schiesser as vice president of growth strategy. He is based in Los Angeles and will oversee the opening of Modern Promos’ new West Coast office there.

SmartCommerce, Atlanta

Former Heineken digital shopper media lead Haley Rubin was named SmartCommerce vice president of client success. She has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and previously held roles at PepsiCo, Philips and Diageo.

Take 5 Media Group, Boca Raton, Florida

Entrepreneur Sandford “Sandy” Lechner was named national vice president of sales. Lechner will manage Take 5 Media Group’s sales team and hiring initiatives at the company’s headquarters in Boca Raton. He will participate in the omni-channel marketing company’s strategic planning, sales forecasting, and budgeting.

Triad Retail Media, St. Petersburg, Florida

Joe Henson was named senior vice president of products and platform. He is responsible for setting Triad’s product strategy and leading the product development, implementation and deployment of the company’s proprietary platforms. One of his initial focuses is to launch a shopper-based marketing solution that enables brands and retailers to target specific audience segments. Henson reports to CEO Sherry Smith and he was previously Catalina group vice president of product platform and technology.
