Circle K, Monster Energy Send Shopper to Fitness Retreat

Circle K is partnering with Monster Beverage Corp.'s flagship to run a sweepstakes awarding one shopper a chance to hang with Ultimate Fighting Championship mixed martial artist fighter Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone. 

Members of the retailer's Easy Rewards loyalty program enter from May 2 through July 3 by purchasing two 25.4-ounce Monster Energy Hydro SKUs and selecting a "claim this deal" button within the retailer's mobile application to obtain a time-sensitive barcode to scan at checkout. The sweeps will award one winner a two-day retreat to Cerrone’s Edgewood, NM, fitness ranch and a Hydro gift pack. Two hundred other winners get a Hydro cinch bag. Tampa, FL-based Social Forces administers.

In stores, the retailer indirectly touts the sweeps via racks hanging from multiple cooler doors that stock Monster Energy Hydro SKUs and communicate a deal on the purchase of two beverages from the brand. An ad within the mobile app and a May 19 update posted across the retailer's regional Facebook pages spotlight the sweeps and the deal. 

The sweeps helps drum up support for Monster Hydro, which recently rolled out in new, resealable 25.4-ounce bottles. Noncarbonated and lightly sweetened, Monster Hydro energy drinks first launched last year in 16.9-ounce bottles.
